14 & 15 August – CHERTSEY and CRANLEIGH

Unfortunately there is a clash of shows for this date – Chertsey and Cranleigh.  Although the Chertsey Show is over the weekend the classic cars are on display on the Sunday only.  Do not take your classic on the Saturday!

If you would like an application form for Chertsey I have a few on a “first come, first served” basis.  Closing date for applications is 10 August.

Spaces have been reserved for Cranleigh for those who are attending.

Sunday 22 August - BLUEBELL RAILWAY

The applications for this show have now closed.  The club meet for this show is the last lay-by on the A217 going south (just before the M25 junction) at 8am.  We will leave at 8am sharp!

Friday 27 August – Special Tilford Club Night

The Fairmile Arms, Cobham.

If you are intending to come to our show it would be advisable to attend this months’ meeting as the Tilford Committee will be updating us on changes, what is still needed and generally what’s happening.

The meeting will start at 8:30pm so if you require the “Two Meals for a Tenner” deal you will need to allow eating time!

Sunday 29 August – Woodcote Nurseries

If you would like to attend this lovely little show please contact the Nurseries direct - 020 8647 6838 or mail@woodcotegreen.com.  Be aware that this show is becoming a popular event in the classics calendar and is filling up fast so make sure you book quickly!

Monday 30 August – Wotton Fete, nr Dorking

Another little fete with an arrival time of midday.  I do have a few application forms if you would like to attend.  (Great food at the Wotton Hatch.)

Saturday 4 September – Weald & Downland Museum, Chichester

The Weald and Downland Museum are holding their Ruby Celebration and we have been offered 2 free tickets per car for Saturday 4 September.  We would need to be on site by 9.45 am and will be parked in a static display. At 1pm the carnival begins after which we will be guided back to the static display and then be free to enjoy the show.  Applications forms are required for this show please let me know if you require a form by 15 August.

Club meeting point for this show is A3 services just past the M25 junction going south.  We will leave at 8am SHARP for the cruise down to Chichester.

Sunday 5 September – Chelsea Auto Legends, London

I have received information about this show being held in the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea.  It is a charity event to raise money for the Chelsea Pensioners. There will be many Le Mans winning cars and exotica on display including the Porsche 917 as driven by Steve McQueen in the 1970 film ‘Le Mans’ plus many of real drivers who took part in the making of said film.  They are also holding a Classic Car show in the grounds and inviting exhibits.  If you wish to take your classic then you will need to contact them to check eligibility and to book.  This can be done by telephone: 0844 581 0760 or via their website – www.chelseaautolegends.com. I have a few leaflets if you require more information.

Sunday 12 September – Den and Pammie’s BBQ.

If you wish to attend this very popular event then please contact Den or Pammi before the end of August and let them know numbers.

Sunday 19 September – Tilford Rural Life Centre

Nothing more to be said; we all know what this is about!  If not, attend the meeting in August (see above)!

Sunday 26 September – LOSELEY HOUSE, LOSELEY PARK

I am awaiting the entry passes for this show.  As soon as they arrive I will forward them onto you.

On a personal note, I will be standing down as Events Co-ordinator at the end of this year.  If any member wishes to take up the challenge from Jan 2011 please either let me know or any committee member.

See you at a show soon!
